Gm. I know I talked about football on Monday, but damn, if youâre a Jets fan, I am so, so, sorry. Even as a Patriots fan I canât help but feel bad for Rodgers and the fanbase. If anyone needs to vent, my DMs are always open đŤĄ

Metaâs Open-Source GPT-4

Weâve spent a lot of time in recent weeks talking about Metaâs AI exploits. And thatâs for a good reason. They just keep releasing banger after banger:
Llama 2 is the best open-source model on Godâs green Earth.
SeamlessM4T is a very impressive translator.
Code Llama might already be as good at coding as GPT-4.
CM3Leon is a âstate-of-the-artâ art-generating model.
Thatâs a lot of heat in a short amount of time.
But none of that compares to what Meta has cooking in the lab:
A new open-source model that is several times stronger than Llama 2. This would make it as powerful as GPT-4, the current gold standard for AI models (at least until Googleâs Gemini model comes out).
Naturally, details are hard to come by, but we do know that:
Meta will start training the model in early 2024.
They are acquiring the infrastructure necessary to make the models a reality (read: many more Nvidia chips).
Zuck wants the model to be open-source.
Besides being extremely cool, this whole shindig is savvy on Metaâs part for several reasons:
Open-sourcing the model will likely lead to developers improving it. Meta can then use the improved model in their own products. Itâs basically free R&D.
If the model is used to create good products, fewer people will use Metaâs competitors. This is obviously ideal for Team Zuck.

The Big Picture: Meta may have been a bit late to the AI party, but they are definitely making noise now.

Get Hired Proactively At High Growth Startups
Growing companies are always looking for the right people to bring them from 0 to 1, and then to 1000. But itâs almost impossible to get in touch with the right person. After hours of looking through Crunchbase and LinkedIn, youâre still stuck with an empty email.

Letâs Go (TikTok) Shopping

I love TikTok. Basically everyone I know loves TikTok. We can easily spend the afternoon swiping and swiping and swiping.
Does it take up a good amount of my time? Yeah. But hey, at least it doesnât take my money.
Oh wait, now it will.
Thatâs because TikTok has officially launched its in-app shopping feature.
Dubbed TikTok Shop, the new feature will add in-feed live shopping, product reviews, and marketing opportunities to the For You Page (FYP).
This is a big move for a lot of different demographics:
If youâre a TikTok addict, then you might now be spending money on this damn app.
If youâre a lover of pure social media, you have to just hope TikTok doesnât go the way of Instagram. A FYP full of ads would just beâŚugh.
If youâre in the e-commerce business, congrats; another big revenue stream might have just opened up.
If youâre a regulator, then you canât love that TikTok will now be collecting peopleâs payment information.
In any case, as if you needed a reminder:
Thereâs never been a better time to be a creator.
TikTok wears the crown.
The Bottom Line: The worldâs most addicting app might have just become a bit more so.
