👀 How Anthropic's Design Lead Actually Uses Cowork

Jenny Wen is the design lead at Anthropic on the Cowork team and her actual workflow is wild.

Every Monday at 10am, Cowork automatically pulls insights from user interviews, Reddit, social, and internal feedback.

Then it generates a presentation with three vetted product ideas she can kick off the week with. The whole thing runs on a scheduled task.

She calls it "garbage in, treasure out." You dump messy sources from everywhere and Claude finds the gems, structures them, and turns them into something actionable.

The 10-day build story everyone's been repeating is misleading. They'd been prototyping this direction for a year. The actual sprint to ship was 10 days, but only because they'd already done the hard thinking.

Early versions were way too structured, almost like workflow tools where you had to fill out inputs and outputs manually. Felt like work. They stripped it all back.

Now her team builds features in days, not weeks. Specs are just a few bullet points. Planning is monthly, maybe 12 items max. Super bottoms-up.
