The Everything Update

Last week was massive for tech - like, seriously massive.

Google dropped a quantum computing bomb with their new chip Willow. Here's the deal: they solved a 30-year-old problem in quantum error correction and ran a computation that would take today's supercomputers 10 septillion years.

OpenAI wasn't sitting quiet either. Remember that real-time video analysis they teased seven months ago? It's finally here for ChatGPT Plus and Pro users. Think of it as GPT-4V but in real-time - your phone camera becomes ChatGPT's eyes. Though EU users will have to wait a bit longer on this one.

But wait, there's more from OpenAI. They launched Canvas (their new workspace for coding and writing) and Projects (for organizing your ChatGPT conversations).

They also launched Sora Turbo, their next-gen text-to-video model. It's significantly faster than their February preview, offering 1080p videos up to 20 seconds long, and it's included with Plus subscriptions.

But Gymnastics is still the Turing test for AI video.

The big picture - While everyone was focused on language models this year, the game is shifting to video and quantum. We're seeing AI moving beyond text into real-world understanding and manipulation, while quantum computing is making sci-fi level jumps.
