šŸ  Browser Wars Are Back

End of Google Chrome’s Dominance?

GM! It’s Brett again. I spent the last few weekends crying my eyes out and dancing.

It was part of an emotional intelligence leadership program, and it was transformative, to say the least.

I can’t share the details, but here’s the biggest takeaway: most of us carry baggage from childhood and life that holds us back from being the friends, partners, and leaders we want to be.

Unloading that changed everything. I feel light, energized, and abundant. Many of the most successful founders, operators and investors are quietly signing up for programs like this in droves.

If you want to level up, this might be the most impactful thing you can do.

AI browser

OpenAI is launching an AI-powered web browser in the next few weeks to directly challenge Google Chrome. This browser, built on Chromium (the same base as Chrome and Edge), integrates deeply with ChatGPT and OpenAI’s web agent, Operator. Basically, it keeps more browsing activity inside the chat interface itself, instead of sending users out to third-party websites.

The reason is Data. Chrome currently controls two-thirds of the global browser market (over 3B users) & fuels Google's massive ad empire by capturing and funneling user data. OpenAI wants a slice of that pie. They even hired key execs from Chrome’s original team and previously floated interest in buying Chrome itself if regulators forced a breakup (Reuters).

And OpenAI’s not alone here. Perplexity also launched "Comet," their AI browser, betting big on integrated agents that handle tasks like summarizing emails or booking parking - though early reviews say it still struggles with complex tasks.

And The Browser Company has already launched its AI-first browser, Dia, in beta.

The big picture - Browser wars are back, now supercharged with AI, and Google Chrome’s dominance might finally get tested.

šŸ‘‹ A Quick Note About Micro

Micro is a CRM that doesn't feel like homework and an email client that knows what matters. Simply put, it's an all-in-one productivity tool that organizes itself so you don't have to.

I built Micro with some friends because I was tired of getting guilt tripped for not hitting inbox 0 and having to bounce around between so many tools to do my job.

That said, Homescreen subscribers can cut the line - go to micro.so/waitlist, join the waitlist, and write in ā€œHomescreenā€ for Other in the ā€œHow did you hear about usā€ question to get early access.
