More specifically, Binance has agreed to pay $4.3B and CZ has agreed to resign from his post in order to settle a DOJ lawsuit that alleged they broke sanctions and money-transmitting laws. Basically, they allowed billions of dollars to flow to people it shouldn’t have been flowing to.

So, Richard Teng, Binance’s Global Head of Regional Markets, is now CEO.

Obviously, you’d expect a development this big would come with multiple consequences. And there are a few:

But overall, it seems the reaction is pretty muted. Hell, the largest crypto exchange was just kicked out of the country and yet bitcoin is UP 1.5%.

Perhaps this is a signal of something. With FTX, Binance, Luna, Celsius, BlockFi, Voyager, and 3AC gone, it appears that all of the deadweight holding the industry back has now been flushed out.

Couple that with seemingly imminent ETF approval, and it starts to make sense why crypto isn’t holding on for dear life.
