Considering current chip leader TSMC is worth $531B and the entire global semiconductor industry did $527B in sales, it was assumed Altman would need to raise billions of dollars to get his plan off the ground.

Yeah, about that.

We now know Altman is attempting to raise somewhere between $5 and $7 trillion from investors like the UAE sovereign wealth fund. Trillion. With a T. For context, the largest funding round of the entire 2010s was $18B.

To put things into perspective, here’s what you can buy with $7T:
